Walton Joseph Stewart Jr.

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Walton Joseph Stewart Jr., 64, who passed away peacefully surrounding his loving family on March 23, 2023. 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home St. Martinville on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

A rosary will be prayed at 11 a.m. on Saturday. 

Rev. Abelardo Gabriel will officiate at the funeral Mass. 

Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.

Donnie ‘Don’ Conques

Breaux Bridge A rosary will be prayed at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Donnie “Don” Earl Conques, 53, who passed away on March 24, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Deacon Butch Hebert will recite the rosary and do committal prayers at St. Bernard No. 2 Cemetery.

Virginia Dugas

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 18 at St. Louis Mission Chapel in Parks for Virginia “Jenny” Dugas, 69, who died on Saturday, March 11, 2023. 

She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Demouche; one grandchilds; brothers, Paul Dugas Sr. and Gerard Dugas; sister, Stella Jackson. 

Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Loula M. Bergeron

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on March 22 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church for Loula Mae Bergeron, 77, who died on March 19, 2023. 

She is survived by her children, Charlene C. Schexnider, Elizabeth C. Enloe and David Champagne; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Burline B. Scrantz and Jeanette B. Blanchard. 

Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Eugene ‘Gene’ A. Landry

Breaux Bridge - A private memorial service wase held for Eugene Allen Landry, 76, who passed away on March 13, 2023.

Eugene “Gene” Allen Landry was born April 23, 1946, in St. Martinville. He retired with the State of Louisiana as a meat inspector for over 30 years. He spent a lot of his time raising his chickens and caring for his animals. Gene enjoyed going to the horse races, watching westerns, driving around visiting his friends and traveling. He will be deeply missed.
