St. Martinville – A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, Aug. 21 at Pellerin Funeral Home for George Thaddeus Barras Sr., 59, who died on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021.
He is survived by his daughter, Iesha Barras; son, George T Barras Jr.; sister, Mrs. Rodney (Cheryl) Savoy; brothers, Ronald B. Sr., Wendell R. Sr., James D., Gerald T. Sr. and Daniel J. Barras.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Barras.
Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

St. Martinville – A gathering of family and friends was held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, for Evelyn Marie Laviolette, 65, who passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, at St. Martin Hospital.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
Evelyn was born July 28, 1956. She was considered a true people’s person. She never met a stranger. Her family was everything to her and she cherished every minute spent with her two grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by many.
