Lorena Simon Laperouse

St. Martinville – Lorena Simon Laperouse, a lifelong resident of St. Martinville, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Lafayette General Medical Center. At her passing she was 80 years old.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Mrs. Laperouse’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday December 1, 2021, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville. Fr. Jason Vidrine will be the celebrant.  

Mrs. Laperouse will be laid to rest privately at a later date.

St. Martinville – A Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home for William “Brad” Warf, 51, who passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continued on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

Rev. Susan Pugh officiated at the Funeral Service.

Interment followed at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes.

Breaux Bridge – A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Catherine Joyce Madden, 86, who passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at River Oaks Retirement Manor.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 12 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Corey James Batiste Jr., 22, who died on October 31, 2021.

He is survived by his mother, Nakiah Castille; father, Corey J. Batiste Sr.; daughter, A’Niyah Batiste; sisters, A’Nyrie Castille and Amiracle Batiste; and brothers, Armondo Girard and Correll Batiste.

Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
