St. Martinville – A Funeral Service was held at 12 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Joseph Valsin Jr., 91, who departed this world of sin, sorrow and pain to the place of eternal Glory, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Iberia Medical Center. 

Visitation was observed at Pellerin Funeral Home on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m.

Rev. Dr. Robert D. Lyons officiated the funeral service. Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.

St. Martinville –  Dolores Marie Hulin, 95, passed away onTuesday, February 7, 2023, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. 

Dolores Marie Hulin was born on November 17, 1927, in New Orleans. For 40 years she worked and ran Laviolette’s Grocery serving everyone who walked through the doors. Her passion was to visit with her family and to watch others enjoy the food that she prepared. Dolores always had an open door and a place to stay for anyone who was in need. Dolores will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
