Velma Thibodeaux Hypolite

Parks – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at St. Louis Chapel for Velma Thibodeaux Hypolite, 81, who passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
Visiting hours were observed at St. Louis Chapel from 9 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. A rosary was prayed at 9:45 a.m.
Rev. Nicholas DuPré officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Tina Burkhalter and Chanda Joseph. Gift bearers were Gavin and Jayden Aguillard.
Interment followed at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Velma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of St. Louis Chapel in Parks. Velma enjoyed dancing, watching sports, especially basketball, and being with her family. Entertaining at her home and having family and friends over brought her so much joy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Clifton Hypolite Sr.; son, Clifton Hypolite Jr. (Angela) of Houston, Texas; step son, Kenneth Potier; brother, Robert Thibodeaux (Alice) of St. Louis, Mo.; sisters, Essie Lyles (Lionel) of Cecilia, Patricia Nolden of Tennessee, and Barbara Burkhalter and Mary Helen Blackshire, both of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Indiana Castex Thibodeaux; sisters, Madeline Thibodeaux and Ruth Pryor; step daughter-in-law, Charlene Potier; and nephew, Gregory Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers were Rubin Hypolite, Peter Hypolite, Marvin Castex, Kevin Hypolite, Walter Reed and Ephream Dugas.
Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
