Sidney P. Vincent

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Sidney P. Vincent, 98, who passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

Visitation at the funeral home was on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A rosary was prayed at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Rev. Jason Vidrine officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Victoria Vincent and Angele Bulliard. His godchildren, Sharelle Hebert Thibodeaux and Peggy Vincent Sonnier, served as Gift Bearers.

Interment followed at St. Michael Mausoleum.

Mr. Vincent was a proud WWII Army veteran who was assigned to Battery A, 310th Field Artillery Battalion, 79th Infantry Division, and was in the second wave of American forces that landed at Utah Beach in June 1944.

He was a member of the American Legion.  As a pastime, he enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family, playing the harmonica and accordion, and watching LSU football. 

  He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Thibodeaux Vincent; son, Guy Vincent (Tracy); daughter, Gisele Bulliard (Tom); grandchildren, Anthony Bulliard, Victoria Vincent, Angele Bulliard and Devon Bardash (Lauren); and his great-grandchildren, Kennedy Bardash and Cole Bardash.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Armond and Lucille Boutte Vincent; and his brothers, Russell Vincent, Aldon Vincent and Roland Vincent.

Pallbearers were Devon Bardash, Anthony Bulliard, Butch Thibodeaux, Will Guidry, Brent Frederick and Burton Champagne.

Honorary pallbearers were Tom Bulliard, Kenneth Frederick, Kelly Frederick, Michael Frederick and Roland Vincent.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana, Alyson Eastin Champagne, Home Instead, Liz Lasseigne and his night caretakers, Celeste Bourque, Jared Guidry and Breigh Anna Robicheaux.

Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
