Interment followed at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
A graduate of Breaux Bridge High School, Roland honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. He was retired from the residential and commercial construction business.
As a pastime he enjoyed woodworking, arts and crafts, hunting, and drinking coffee while sitting outside under his patio watching the peaceful waters of the Bayou Teche flow by.
Roland looked forward to getting together with his lifelong friends; some of them having known each other since the age of five. On Wednesdays, you didn’t bother the old, retired men. They would all show up at Roland’s house, enjoying conversations in Cajun French, drinking coffee, and cooking or going out to eat lunch, which they had done for the past 50-plus years.
Roland enjoyed daily visits with friends for coffee and breakfast at either McDonald’s or Waffle House, and eating out for lunch and dinner, but he especially loved going to Le Café on Fridays.
Roland looked forward to visits from his family members – those visits he cherished most. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his two sons, Byron James (Melena) Landry and Blake Landry of Wichita, Kan.; his daughter, Brandy M. Landry of Breaux Bridge; and his companion, Kay Courville of Breaux Bridge.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda Breaux Landry; parents, Percy and Anaise Stoutes Landry; and his sister, Deanna Landry Reece.
Pallbearers were Bobby Landry, Kirk Landry, Wayne Landry, Kirby Landry, Doug Angelle and Ronald Hebert.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wanda B. Landry Scholarship Fund, LSU Ag Center, 114 Courthouse St., Breaux Bridge, LA 70517.
Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
