Rita Dugas Story

Breaux Bridge – A private graveside service will be held for Rita Dugas Story, 98, who passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center.
Rita enjoyed taking trips to the casino. She was always a helping hand to anyone that needed and made sure her family and friends were taken care of. Her family was everything to her and she cherished her time with them. Rita will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Eddie Story and wife Kathy of Lafayette; daughters, Janice Melancon and husband Rene of Parks and Barbara Bourgeois and husband Leon of New Iberia; brother, Grady Dugas and wife Maureen Hulin of Parks; eight grandchildren, Paige B. Schaubert and Stacie B. Migues of New Iberia, Terry “Noogie” Doucet and Holly D. Bourque of St. Martinville, Denise D. Albert of Catahoula, Jason Doucet and Christopher Doucet of Parks, and Abby Story of Lafayette; 17 great-grandchildren, Tracie Boudreaux, Kimberly Doucet, Lindsey Doucet, Noah Doucet Auston Doucet, Alex Doucet, Autum Doucet, Megan Champagne, Cassie Albert, Brylon Viator, Hunter Bourque, Rylie Bourque, Natalie Schaubert, Cameron Schaubert, Addison Migues, Ian Migues and Brock Doucet; and eight great-great-grandchildren, Kohen Boudreaux, Maddox Boudreaux, Brooklyn Allain, Maverick Champagne, Kinsley Lewis, Aubriana Guilley, Indie Guilley and Brantley Champagne.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Wilbert J. Story; parents, John S. and Mathilde Judice Dugas; sisters, Maydell D. Sanders, Esther D. Calais and Elsie D. Roy; and brothers, Westley, Randell, Jeff, Oldon and Andre Dugas.
