Melba Agnes Cormier

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Melba Agnes Cormier, 84, who passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at St. Martin Hospital.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Rev. Abelardo Gabriel, SVD, will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Shirret Leday, Shirley Simon, and Alex Anthony. Musical selections will be provided by Glenda Sonnier and Ashley Charles.
Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Melba was born April 21, 1937. She enjoyed going out to eat, dance, and going shopping for nice clothes. She loved visiting with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by them.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Marie Anthony (Alex); five sons, Albert Williams, Eddie Williams, Phil Williams, Randy Williams and Glenn Williams; stepson, Richard Williams; stepdaughter, Judy Lewis (Billy); brothers, Melvin Davis, Louis Davis (Shirley), Edward Davis (Geneva) and Gilbert Guidry; sister, Shirley Parker (Russell); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Cormier; mother, Priscilla Davis; four sons, Harold Louis, Michael Williams, Perry Williams and Lee Allen Williams; and an infant daughter, Julie Williams.
Pallbearers will be Damien Gerard, Alex Anthony, Phil Williams, Edward Davis, Louis Davis Sr. and Raymond Green Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Williams, Eddie Williams, Glenn Williams and Timothy Smith.
