Juanita Ann Blanchard

Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Juanita Ann Blanchard, 78, who passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

A visitation was held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.  on Tuesday at the funeral home.

A rosary was prayed at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Deacon Butch Hebert officiated at the funeral service. 

Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No 1.

Juanita Ann Blanchard was born May 10, 1944, in Carencro, La. She was employed at Robin’s Restaurant for 26 years, Martin Mills for 11 years, and was a proud owner of a western store in Breaux Bridge for many years. Juanita was an exceptional seamstress who made many wedding dresses and clothes for her children and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed working in her flower beds, crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends. 

She is survived by daughter, Lucinda (Robert C.) Lear; son, Curley Blanchard Jr.; grandchildren, Chelsea Blanchard, Alexander Lear, Evan Lear and Sydnie Blanchard; and her great-grandchild, Alice Rose Gaspard.

Pallbearers were Curley A. Blanchard Jr., Robert C. Lear, Ian Gaspard, Evan Lear, Davin Romero and Alexander Lear. 

Honorary pallbearers were her godchild, Frankie Cuccio, Samuel Cuccio, Scott LeBlanc,  John Landry and Todd Guidry.

She is preceded in death by parents, Millard and Gussie Guillot Bowie; husband, Curley Antoine Blanchard Sr.; brothers, Sidney Bowie and Andrew “Woogie” Bowie; and her sister, Patsy Cuccio.

The Blanchard family would like to express their gratitude to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and staff and Joni Thomas, Anita LeBlanc, and Debbie Miller, for the care, love, and compassion that was given to their loved one.
