John was born on February 6, 1961, in St. Martinville. John, known affectionately as Paco to his loved ones, leaves behind a legacy that will forever resonate within our souls. He was an exceptional individual with an unyielding spirit and a gentle soul. His presence could light up any room and his laughter was infectious, bringing joy to everyone around him.

Paco had an immense passion for music. Whether it was listening to guitar melodies that soothed his soul or reading intricate music books, he found peace in the harmony that surrounded him. As an avid collector of books, he treasured the written word and found comfort in getting lost within their pages. He truly understood the power of literature and its ability to transport us to new worlds.

But Paco’s love for music and books wasn’t his only passion; he had an adventurous spirit that led him to explore the great outdoors. Fishing brought him a sense of tranquility and peace as he cast his line into calm waters and connected with nature in its purest form. Golfing was another pastime that brought him both challenge and relaxation-a game in which he found camaraderie with friends and family.

He had an unwavering passion for watching boxing matches and would always excitedly share his insights and predictions with anyone who would listen. Paco’s enthusiasm for the sport was infectious, and he could engage anyone in animated conversations about his favorite boxers and memorable bouts.

Yet perhaps one of the most endearing qualities about Paco was his passion for making others smile. Playing Santa Claus during the holiday season is something he cherished with all his heart. The twinkle in his eyes as he donned iconic red suit filled the hearts of children with hope, magic, and wonder. He embodied the true joy of giving and made countless memories that will last lifetimes.

He is survived by his brother, Fabian Rodriguez; sisters, Vanessa Rodriguez, Merna Rabeaux (Michael), Connie Haddock, Veronica R Borel (Tim) and Annette Rodriguez; godchildren, Sanders “JY” Bonin and Tessa Rabeaux.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fabian and Doris Rodriguez; maternal grandparents, Burton “Bee” and Edmae Albert; paternal grandparents, Filomna and Martin Rodriguez.

Honorary pallbearers were Fabian Rodriguez, Tim Borel, Mike Rabeaux, Javian Rodriguez, John Albert, Dauyne Albert, Carl Meche and Tony DeJesus.
