Iva Mae Daigle Stelly

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Iva Mae Daigle Stelly, 72, who passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at St. Martin Hospital.

Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continued on Monday from 7 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. 

A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Rev. Garrett McIntyre officiated at the Funeral Mass. 

Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.

Iva Mae was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, sailing out on cruises, and sharing her good cooking with everyone. Iva Mae never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. She will be remembered for her generosity, kindness towards others, and that mother’s unconditional love for her children, family, and friends. 

She is survived by her sons, Dwight James Stelly (Karla) and Ricky Stelly; daughter, Jamie Stelly Bernard (Matthew); grandchildren, Brooke Stelly, Morgan Segura (Blake), Connor Bernard, Katie Latiolias and Mackenzie Bernard;  brothers, Ralph Daigle (Bertha) and Clarence Daigle; sisters, Lorraine Thibodeaux and Mary Ann Chastant (Kenneth); sisters-in-law, Charlotte Daigle, Judy Daigle, Bertha Dugas, Doris Bergeron and Marie Stelly; nephew/brother, Gilbert Daigle; and her companion, Clifford Guidry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Evans Stelly; parents, John G. and Loritta LeBlanc Daigle; brothers, Joseph Daigle, Paul Daigle and Richard Daigle; and brother-in-law, Richard Thibodeaux.

Pallbearers were Ricky Stelly, Dwight James Stelly, Matt Bernard, Kerry Daigle, Gilbert Daigle and Timmy Daigle.

Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Daigle, Clarence Daigle, Connor Bernard, Kenneth Chastant and Anthony Bergeron.

Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
