Heywood Baudoin

Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Heywood Baudoin, 88, who passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at St. Martin Hospital. 

  Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.  

A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday. 

Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the funeral service. Readers were Tara Serrette and Julie Olivier. 

Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. 

Mr. Baudoin was a proud Navy veteran who honorably served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He enjoyed telling stories about his time and travels while serving his country. His most memorable moments were telling jokes and spending time with his family, especially his wife and grandchildren.   

As a pastime, he loved going out to eat at restaurants, traveling, and watching Hallmark Christmas movies.   

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Judy Olivier; stepson, Leonard Devillier (Erica); two brothers, Louis Baudoin (Faye) and Jimmie Baudoin; six grandchildren, Carrie Angelle (Nicholas), Julie Olivier, Cody Olivier (Allison), Martha Devillier Goulas (Ross), Francis Broussard and Alex Devillier; 10 great-grandchildren, Chance Fontenot, Trey Fontenot, Kade Fontenot, Lane Angelle, Nickolas Angelle, Laya Goulas, Cora Thibodeaux, Sawyer Goulas, Carter Olivier and Eva Thibodeaux; and one great-great-grandchild, Cullen Fontenot. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Mae Guidry Devillier; parents, Ulysses and Eve Viator Baudoin; three brothers, George Baudoin, Roland Baudoin and Chank Baudoin; and four sisters, Verna Pitt, Gussie Jory, Vergie Baudoin and Norma Baudoin.  

Pallbearers were Nicholas Angelle, Kade Fontenot, Trey Fontenot, Justin Thibodeaux, Alex Devillier and Francis Broussard. 

Honorary pallbearer was Leonard Devillier.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, and staff of Ochsner St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge for the wonderful and compassionate care given to him during his time of need.

Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
