Gloria B. Brasseaux

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Gloria B. Brasseaux, 93, who passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home. 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. 

A rosary will be prayed at 1 p.m. on Thursday by Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert. 

Father John Joseph, CJC, will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2. 

Gloria was a member of the Association of the Miraculous Medal and St. Bernard Perpetual Adoration. She had a special devotion to St. Anne, patroness of Grandmothers. As a devout Catholic, she spent many hours going to mass and praying the rosary. 

“Toot” enjoyed listening to music: French, Cajun, Zydeco, and Country. She liked to watch game shows on television, listen to news and weather reports and read the Teche News. Going to the casino was also on her list. 

Many social gatherings of family and friends were held in her kitchen. She would brew coffee and serve her delicious cake, pralines, pecan pie or brownies.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hebert (Butch); sons, Larry Brasseaux (Viv), Jerry Brasseaux (Jan), David Brasseaux (Gail), John Brasseaux and Michael Brasseaux (Judy); son-in-law, David Tauzin; brother, Donald Broussard; 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Brasseaux; daughter, Anne Tauzin; grandson, Drew Tauzin; and parents, Jules Broussard and Leoncia Dupuis Broussard. 

Pallbearers will be Michael Brasseaux, Brent Brasseaux, Justin Brasseaux, Bart Hebert, Jeremy Leder and Eric Tauzin. 

Pellerin Funeral Home, 211 Berard St., Breaux Bridge (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
