Friends and family may begin gathering at 12 p.m. to visit and exchange memories of Fish. Food will be provided by close friend, John Dever.

Charles was born on December 15, 1951 in Lafayette. Known to his friends as “Fish,” Charles had a deep connection to nature and the outdoors. From a young age, he developed a lifelong love for fishing and hunting. His eyes would light up as he recounted the stories of his fishing exploits, regaling friends with tales of the ones that got away and the triumphs that made him beam with pride. Fishing was more than just a hobby for Fish; it was a way of connecting with the serenity of the natural world at his camp in Toledo Bend, North Louisiana and the Vermillion River.

One of Fish’s greatest joys in life was playing pool. His skill and precision on the table were truly remarkable. Many fond memories were made as he showcased his talent and engaged in friendly competitions with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruby Hebert Lester; son, Jamie Paul Hebert(Brooke); Mother, Leota LeBlanc Lester; Brothers, David J. Lester(Carla) and Glenn P. Lester; grandchildren, Lauren Capdepon(Nick), Caleb Hebert, Austin Hebert, Greyson Hebert and Faith Hebert; great-grandchildren, Parker Capdepon and Simon Capdepon; Nephew, Bo Lester(Jayde); Niece, Megan Lester.
