Alexson L. ‘Frog’ Boudreaux Sr.

Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Alexson L. “Frog” Boudreaux at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Fr. Bill John Melancon will be the celebrant. Mr. Boudreaux will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Elaine, at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum following the Mass.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Dion Hall in Catahoula on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until time of services Thursday, with the Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Alexson was born December 24, 1935, in Catahoula to the late Aldes J. Boudreaux and Sophie Barras Boudreaux, and passed away peacefully on Monday, March 18 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 83.
Mr. Frog, as he was affectionately known, was a lifelong resident of Catahoula and left his legacy of kindness and generosity with all he loved. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. In his early years he was a sugar cane farmer, and later owned and operated Boudreaux’s Mobil Station for over 20 years. He was known for his great Cajun cooking and donated his time and talent many years for the Church Fair. It was a time he enjoyed because he could visit with family and friends and give back to his community and church.
Frog had a passion for dancing to his favorite Cajun music, and enjoying life to the its fullest. He will be remembered for his generous and giving heart and for the legacy of love and compassion for his family and community.
Survivors include his children, Karl Boudreaux and wife Karen, Glynis Robichaux and husband Dr. Lonnie Robichaux, Ellen Latiolais and husband Cleven, Melanie Landry and husband Leland, Carrie Faucheaux and husband Stacy, Elizabeth Chataignier and husband Charles, and Alexson Boudreaux Jr.; his son-in-law, Ray Camden; his grandchildren, Blair Boudreaux, Dr. Andrew Robichaux (Krista), Michael Robichaux (Candace), Taylor Robichaux, Samuel Robichaux, Darci Latiolais, Cassi Gauthier (Jonah), Emily Latiolais, Cleven John Latiolais, Adam Landry, William Landry (Zoe), Matthew Faucheaux (Stephanie), Hali Faucheaux, John Faucheaux, Jacob, Lynn, Noah, Jane, Maisie, Carol and Weston Camden, Andrea, Gabrielle, Katelyn and Charlie Chataignier, and Ethan Boudreaux; numerous great-grandchildren; his brother, Walter Boudreaux; and his brother-in-law, Willis Lasseigne.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Robin Boudreaux; daughter, Jeanne Boudreaux Camden; grandson, Joseph Robichaux; granddaughter, Kelly Camden; his sister, Elsie Lasseigne; brothers, Clayton, Aldes Jr. and Carol Boudreaux; and his sister-in-law, Verlie Boudreaux.
Serving as pallbearers are Alexson Boudreaux Jr., William and Michael Landry, John and Matthew Faucheaux, Andrew, Michael, Taylor and Samuel Robichaux, and Noah and Jacob Camden.
