Adelle Calais Guidry

Cecilia – Private Graveside Services will be held for the immediate family of Adelle Calais Guidry, 80, who passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.
Adelle was an amazing cook and loved cooking for her family. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend. A devout Catholic, she was very caring, always willing to help her family and friends in whatever way she could. She was a hard worker and took great pride in taking care of her family. Adelle loved going to the casino and she especially looked forward to her annual Las Vegas trip with her sisters. She lit up when her grandchildren and their children came to visit.
Adelle will be missed by many who loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Lloyd “Joe” Guidry Jr. and Donald Guidry; daughters, Shannon Guidry Johnson and Reneé Guidry; siblings, Dot Calais, Betty Gaubert and husband Bob, and Poonie Huval; grandchildren, Lailor, Brendan, Alison, Cameron, McKenzie, Kennedy, Stonewall and Presli; and great-grandchildren, Brinlee, Braxton, Rowan and Luna.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Joseph Guidry Sr.; son, Troy David Guidry; parents, Lanley Calais and Marie “Malute” Walters Calais; and great-granddaughter, Sophia.
Pallbearers will be Joe Guidry, Donald Guidry, Cameron Guidry, Stonewall Johnson and Dane Huval.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville. We are so grateful for the love and compassionate care given to her and the extra special care given to her by her “favorite,” Brie; and as she said, “I love my nursing home.”
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate Masses donated or prayers, for Adelle.
Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
