Salary schedule, group health plan on agenda

Employee salary schedules and changes to the system’s group health plan are among the topics to be discussed when the St. Martin School Board meets this afternoon (Wednesday).

The board’s Finance Committee will meet at 4 p.m. with the full board set to convene at the conclusion of the committee meeting. The sessions will be held in the Administrative Office on Corporate Boulevard.

Also on the Finance Committee agenda is action on the lawn maintenance and School Resource Officer contracts along with discussions of the budget and maintenance vehicles.

In addition to acting on the recommendations of the Finance Committee, the full board will review and approve Head Start operations, consider granting an $18,000 loan to Cecilia High School for new band uniforms, approve securing the old Cecilia High football field/stadium during school hours, and consider the location of a cell tower on the Cecilia Primary property.

•Discuss school safety (Russel Foti).

•Discuss the use of school board vehicles (Mark Hebert)

•Consider National Serve Day on July 15 for Our Savior’s Church at the Early Learning Center and St. Martinville Sr. High School (Wanda Vital).

•Consider comments about school board issues (Floyd Knott).

Board members are also expected to go into executive (secret) session to discuss the desegregation litigation, consider an appeal for a group health claim, and an appeal regarding extracurricular participation.
