Joseph ‘JC’ Clairville Bienvenu

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Joseph “JC” Clairville Bienvenu, 70, who passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday and continued on Monday at 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. A rosary was prayed at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Rev. Ed Degeyter offi ciated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were his goddaughter, Renee Gauthier, and Bridget Latiolais.

Jack Noé Huval

Lafayette – Jack Noé Huval, 90, passed away Monday evening, Nov. 6, 2017, at his residence in Lafayette, with loved ones at his side. An 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette, and interment was in Calvary Cemetery. Reverend Andre Metrejean, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath, served as celebrant of the Mass and conducted funeral services. Jack was born on March 13, 1927, in Cecilia, and later was a resident of Lafayette for 67 years. Jack was an attorney until his recent retirement.

Esperanza Gonzalez

Breaux Bridge – A funeral service was held on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Esperanza “Hope” Lopez Rios Gonzalez, 89. She is survived by her daughters, Lydia, Odelia and Suzanna Gonzalez, Mrs. Paul (Sylvia) Swartz and Mrs. Richard (Carolina) Noland; nine grandchildren, 18 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Crispin Gonzalez; her sisters, Lenora Vasquez, Olivia Rivera and Christina Gutierrez; and her brother, Alfredo Rios. Pellerin Funeral was in charge of arrangements.

Ada Nell Long

Arnaudville – Ada Nell Long, 74, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Opelousas General Hospital. Ada enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. At all gatherings, she loved to help cook, using old family recipes that warmed the heart and soul and created new memories.
